This exhibition provided the first overview of the work of the Hanover-based artist in the context of his contemporaries in the European avant-garde. It presents approximately 170 works from the 1920s to the 1940s, illustrating the close connections between Schwitters and his artist friends Hans Arp, El Lissitzky, Theo van Doesburg and others.
